N-o1 Naming Intelligence

The Top 500 Names & Positions

500 names. 500 positions. One global ranking.

N-o1 Naming Intelligence ranks important digital names and category positions using observable naming-market evidence, historical domain activity, established namespace adoption, emerging namespace demand and strategic positioning factors.

The ranking is designed to provide market intelligence and context. It does not imply that different domain types or namespace rights are technically equivalent.

How the ranking works

The Naming Intelligence Score is separate from Authoritative SSV. Scores are weighted assessments, not independent valuations or objective measurements of popularity.

Inputs are rated from 0 to 100, then multiplied by their weight. Editorial factors cover category strength, commercial fit, future relevance, memorability, global usability and positioning. Measured adoption, search demand, verified sales and ICANN counts require evidence. Missing signals remain unknown. The rank compares the curated research set, not every word or domain on the internet. Ties use alphabetical order; explained owner overrides take precedence. Movement compares published revisions only.

Delegation alone receives 20/100 for namespace maturity and does not establish registration volume. DNIB top-ten registration groups support higher adoption inputs: 70 for a sector top ten, 80 for all-TLD ranks 6–10, 90 for ranks 2–5 and 100 for .COM. ICANN demand uses distinct exact-string application IDs from the 7 October 2026 contention-set CSV: input = min(100, 100 × ln(1 + count) / ln(14)). Absence from the contention-set file is unknown, because it does not list every uncontested application. Domain-only sale input uses a capped logarithm of the evidenced USD price with $70 million at 100; business transaction values receive no domain-only sale points. Each name page shows its input notes. Existing TLD delegation confirms existence, not registration volume.
